🐴 3 copywriting myths to ditch in 2025

Hey Reader,

I had a ton going on this week, so keeping it short and sweet today!

In more exciting news - I have SO many amazing rural businesses' stories to share with you this year! AND I've gotten to interview some incredible agricultural founders who allowed me a backstage pass on how their brands went from $0 to millions.

Best part - they're letting me share their secrets with you!

I'll also be sharing some shocking ways marketing is shifting in 2025...

What's in store for both writers and business owners in this new era (good and bad)...

How to stand out, stay relevant, and win big in a highly skeptical digital landscape.

And why NOW is the best time to bet on your business and hire a (good) writer!

But first, I need you to ditch these 3 beliefs that have as much dust on them as my work saddle does...

Myth #1: AI Is A Business Writer's Enemy

Before you come at me - I'm NOT anti-AI. In fact, I love AI and use it in my own business - but in the right ways.

Despite my rants about crappy, robotic copy, I don't believe it's Team Human vs. Team Robot.

These two things can be true at once:

AI is an amazing time-saving tool, and...

Some things in your business should NEVER be automated.

Ever since ChatGPT blew up (side note: this isn't the best AI for copy, in my opinion that goes to Claude.ai), people have hyper-focused on training AI to write for them and treating it as the magic bullet for success.

Sure, they're saving time, but in the process are removing all the heart, humor and humanity from the equation.

That, my friend, is a race to the bottom.

Instead, we should be using AI to streamline our business processes and help with time-consuming, repeatable tasks (like research, brainstorming, and task management).

We should be using AI to free up more of our time so that we can do more of the human-to-human, trust-building activities that only we as humans can do.

And we should be using AI to deliver personalized, valuable content to our customers exactly when they need it.

AI is not the enemy. It can be your best friend as both a writer and a business.

Myth #2: Businesses No Longer Need Writers

Reader, in 2025, the businesses that will win are the ones who prioritize authenticity alongside automation.

Read that again.

In 2023 alone, a record-breaking 5M+ new businesses were started - a 56.7% increase from 2019!

And a recent study revealed that 73% of companies are actively hiring PEOPLE right now to refine their content strategy and help them connect more deeply with their audiences.

In 2025, the smartest business owners will hire writers to work strategically with AI to help them better serve their customers, build trust, and stand out in an increasingly automated world.

Myth #3: A Writer Just Writes

If you think the role of a writer starts and ends with pumping out words...

Think again.

Writing is so much more than that.

A great writer is a strategic business partner and consultant who understands your customer's psychology and works with your business to create messaging that connects and converts.

A writer can be the most versatile weapon for your business - they can open doors (and introduce you to audiences) you didn't even know existed.

They can help you sell your product or service, elevate your brand, or establish yourself as a thought leader in your niche.

Final Thoughts:

Before you finish up that Q2 budget, ask yourself:

"Are we allowing for more creativity, authenticity and efficiency in our digital strategy?"

If the answer is no, you need to rework it to include a writer who can help you accomplish all those things single-handedly.

Your free time and bottom line will thank you later.

✍️Writing Prompt:

What myth did I previously believe that turned out to be false? How did that change my thought process going forward?

🗨️One quote to finish your week strong:

“Double down on your best relationship. It's the investment with the highest return.”

Have a great week!

Enjoy the ride,

Charlie
